Sean Murray Sold Me on No Man's Sky (E3 2014)

A look at No Man's Sky gameplay from E3 2014.

Hello Games' ambitious No Man's Sky is looking better than ever after its E3 2014 gameplay trailer. The game's procedurally generated worlds feature colorful scenery, attention-grabbing alien life, and engaging interstellar battles. If you have any interest in the likes of sci-fi and space exploration, this game should be right up your alley. If you missed it at Sony's presentation, you can take a look at the new trailer below:

It does look lovely thus far, and the game's promise of offering a completely infinite world wherein each player will get their own unique experience is hard to ignore. However, it was Hello Games' founder Sean Murray's brief appearance on stage at the Sony presentation that truly sold me on No Man's Sky. He spoke with incredible humility and passion for the game and the science fiction stories that inspired it. He also appeared a bit nervous, which I personally found endearing. I'm absurdly shy, so I can't even imagine the pressure of having to speak on a stage at a major event like E3. I think Murray absolutely nailed it however, and I became an instant fan.

From losing tons of equipment and work to a flood in late 2013 to giving an immensely well received presentation at E3, Hello Games and Murray have come a long way. This is a small team that has successfully overcome great adversity, and they have what looks to be an incredible property on their hands. I hope No Man's Sky goes on to have all the success in the world.

Let's wrap up with another bit of gameplay footage:
