Weekly Want - Revoltech TMNT, SDCC Exclusives, & More!

Revoltech Raphael

Toys and collectibles, am I right? I often want them. For your viewing pleasure, here are a small handful of notable examples from the past week:

Third party toy maker Keith's Fantasy Club is venturing into the world of the Brave series with Captain Shark from The Brave of Gold Goldran. Images of the mold in full color just hit Facebook, and it's looking quite lovely. The face sculpt looks a bit too "mean" for my tastes but this is still a toy I'd love to own. Named "Sencho Barbossa" for legal reasons, the $90 release is expected to hit "in-stock" status on various sites fairly soon.

If you're unfamiliar with the character, here's a bit of Captain Shark in action:

For SDCC 2014, Bandai is releasing a redeco of their 6 inch Final Wars Godzilla vinyl with an awesome box that folds out into a city diorama. The $60 set is fairly limited, with only 500 produced. I'd love to hear that it sells out at the show!

Super 7 will be offering a variant of the fantastic SDCC exclusive Re-Action Alien Egg Chamber playset on their website. The set will retail for $100 and feature some slight color changes on both the product and packaging.

DC Collectibles recently unveiled a ton of different products, including DC Scribblenauts Wave 5. It's hard to believe that this blind boxed series is already on its fifth assortment! I imagine Harley Quinn might end up the most sought after, but everyone included here looks great.

Hasbro offered an amazing surprise in the form of this SDCC and Habsro Toy Shop exclusive ROM the Spaceknight Mighty Mugg! I'm incredibly pleased to see this slightly obscure character get some love. Using the opportunity to breathe a bit of new life into the Mighty Muggs line makes it even better!

This year's TFCon was held last week, and it brought us tons of awesome third party Transformers reveals. My personal favorite is this take on Gobots' Crasher from DX9. Pricing and availability details are still to be determined, but I'm sure this is going to be quite a popular release. I imagine it'll make a nice companion piece to Fracture (Hasbro's official homage) from a few years back.

This Bluntman and Chronic Minimates set is a joint (heh) Toys R Us and SDCC exclusive. Seeing a Toys R Us exclusive sticker on toys related to these characters is incredibly bizarre.

Finally, Play-Asia has just listed their pre-orders for the Revoltech Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Some of the smaller joints as seen in the elbows and knees are a little odd, but the sculpts look to be very well done. At over $40 each, the entire set of 4 is going to be costly, but any toy collector that's been enjoying the 2012 TMNT series might want to consider at least grabbing one!

That's it for this week. Until next time, be sure to check out CGS on Twitter & Facebook!

  1. Could Barbossa open the (back)door to 3rd party sentai releases? Someone needs to make Kyoryuger mechs that don't break whenever you think of them.

  3. Such an invitation would be regretted if we continued down this same road~ I actually have to apologize, because it feels like that's all I ever end up talking about, lately :erm: To people who don't even remotely care about it, no less

    Such is life *shrug*

  4. Last time I let it slip by when someone said they wanted to talk to me, I really ended up regretting it. Life is hilarious sometimes.

    I know the feeling however.
