New Captain America and Thor FanArt Frenzy!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Despite the recent nature of Marvel's major character shakeups (with Falcon replacing Steve Rogers as Captain America and an undetermined female character taking over the mantle of Thor), the announcements have already captured the imaginations of comic fans all over. It might not be on the level of the recent Batgirl fanart just yet, but plenty of artwork featuring the new Cap and Thor designs is beginning to pour in. That means it's FanArt Frenzy time!

This striking Thor piece is from DeviantArt user TheRedKid.

Thanks to TJ Frias, we already have a taste of what Sam Wilson might look like in action as Captain America.

While the official Thor art we've see thus far is deadly serious, Ice-cream-skies made this somewhat lighthearted spin work well.

One of my favorite aspects of looking at fanart is the wide variety of styles represented. This cartoony take on both characters from 12for12 is a lot of fun.

Something Terrible author Dean Trippe was one of the very first to depict the new Cap suit in flight. The drawing ultimately sold for over $80 on eBay!

Daniel P Santana's digital painting makes me want to see similar portraits of the entire Avengers lineup!

This one comes to us by way of DeviantArt's Panofeggs. Sometimes you just gotta flex.

I'm sure the upcoming comics will feature many a panel similar to this powerful action shot from Chao-Illustrations.

It doesn't look as if Mr. Wilson is too thrilled about his promotion in this portrait from Daystorm, but I love the colors!

Whew, that does it for now. I'm sure there will be plenty more artwork to come leading up to the release of All-New Captain America #1 and Thor #1 this fall. I'm glad to see some strong positive reactions to the character changes thus far, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where the stories go from here!

Until next time, be sure to check out CGS on Twitter and Facebook!
