Transformers Prime Voyager Bulkhead Reveal from IGN

Click the image above to view in full size!

IGN received the first scoop on some of the new TRANSFORMERS PRIME figures debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. I already yammered about Optimus, so now it's time for Bulkhead! The resident "big guy" of the core Transformers Prime Autobot team, Bulkhead's design embodies strength. This Bulkhead is also a more mature, experienced character than his Transformers Animated counterpart. The toy seen above looks to capture him wonderfully!

Anyone that loves Transformers Animated will likely have at least some sort of soft spot for Bulkhead, and the Prime iteration of him has been handled nicely. The toy would've been desirable on those grounds alone, but lucky for the fans/collectors, it happens to look really damn good as well. I can easily see Transformers Prime Voyager class Bulkhead being an early favorite in the line. Sign me up!

IGN received the first scoop on some of the new TRANSFORMERS PRIME figures debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. At the forefront is the Voyager Class Optimus Prime seen above. Regardless of how you feel about the character on the show, it would appear that Hasbro and Takara Tomy have captured that particular design quite successfully. Compared to the deluxe version...wait, what am I saying? There's no comparison. The voyager class really blows that toy out of the water. Good stuff.

I'm a man that enjoys a good Optimus Prime toy, and I'm quite glad to see that Transformers Prime Voyager Class Optimus (damn, say that three times fast) is going to be an immediate must-have!

Transformers Generations Black Shadow and Junkion Confirmed

UPDATE: Thanks to the Hasbro Transformers panel at SDCC 2011, the names of these two toys are confirmed as Sky Shadow and Junkheap.

As seen above, the instructions for the previously released Transformers Generations Thunderwing and Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar depicted the robot modes with different heads, revealing potential retools to fans. The Thunderwing retool looked to be based on Japanese Generation 1 character Black Shadow, whereas Wreck-Gar was to become a generic Junkion seemingly based on Junkyard. These instruction images (and others) came about so long ago that the fates of the potential retooled and redecoed toys have seemingly been up in the air. The most recent official word from Botcon 2011 was a vague "we're looking into them/we'll try." Ho hum.

Thankfully, the story doesn't end there. Thanks to a solicitation find from TFW2005 member catz, any worries that the toys would go unrealized are now out the window! Those of you wishing to expand your collection of Classics style Transformers are in luck: Trasformers Generations BLACK SHADOW and JUNKION are now confirmed for November release by Hasbro! They are to be packed 2 to a case, along with 2 Wheeljacks and 1 each of Sergeant Kup and Warpath. Good news indeed!

Perhaps if we're lucky, we'll finally see these guys in full plastic form at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, a tiny little multi-media shindig that just happens to start tomorrow. Hurrah!

Transformers Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Guzzle Official Images

From Hasbro.com, here are the official images for Transformers: Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Commander Autobot Guzzle:

First shown at Botcon 2011, this Guzzle is fairly similar to his design in IDW Comics' Last Stand of the Wreckers. Many fans that don't collect the majority of movie-based Transformers toys have expressed interest in the figure given this cross-over appeal. Being part of the already popular Cyberverse assortment certainly doesn't hurt either! Given the demand, expect to fight off fellow collectors and scalpers alike when Guzzle hits shelves this summer!

Check out Hasbro's product profile for Cyberverse Guzzle HERE for his bio and a look at the vehicle mode! Oh, and be sure check out Last Stand of the Wreckers if you haven't already:
