10 Transformers You Should Display For Halloween

Even if they don't realize it, Transformer collectors likely have all the makings of an exceptional Dinosaur Dracula-style Halloween mood table. The core concept behind the TF series already falls right in line with the holiday, and the evolution and experimentation of its toylines has delivered plenty of spooky/scary bots over the years. If I were to assemble a Halloween-friendly Transformers display of my own, it would absolutely have to include the following:

Generation 1 Punch/Counterpunch

Autobot double agent Punch is able to transform into Counterpunch: a completely different persona that the Decepticons foolishly accept among their ranks. It's like the ultimate Halloween costume contest.

Generation 1 Mindwipe

Decepticon Headmaster Mindwipe transforms into a vampiric bat with freaky hypnotic powers. If that's not perfect for Halloween, what is?

Generation 1 Bludgeon

Bludgeon is a Pretender Transformer that famously parades around as a skeletal samurai. It pretty much explains itself.

Beast Wars Tripredacus

You could blindly choose any Beast-era Predacon and land on something delightfully monstrous, but Tripedacus (the combined form of two gnarly insects and a mean damn crawfish) may well be the most horrific of all.

Beast Machines Savage Noble (Beast Changer)

Beast Machines may be a "love it" or "hate it" affair, but you can't deny that Noble (a werewolf-like organic beast that transforms into an incredibly bizarre dragon) is a concept that would be right at home in a monster movie.

Beast Wars II Hellscream / Universe Overbite

If Clive Barker designed Transformers, the Japanese exclusive Hellscream (replaced here by his more affordable Hasbro analogue Overbite) would probably be the result.

2007 Movie Big Daddy

This modern update of the G1 Micromaster Big Daddy is god-tier for a multitude of reasons. Since day one, my favorite has been the gloriously Halloween-appropriate orange and black color scheme.

Animated Blackarachnia

Animated Blackarachnia's brooding personality stems from a tragic backstory. The unfortunate physical side-effects provide more than enough creepiness to counterbalance the standard land and air vehicle alternate modes of the remaining regular cast.

Prime Terrorcon Cliffjumper

The shambling, re-animated husk that is Terrorcon Cliffjumper has to be the most ghoulish Transformer toy ever produced.

Prime Dead End

Finally, Transformers: Prime Dead End absolutely screams Halloween. He oozes evil and menace in the most gaudily fun way possible. I love it.

There you have it! Throw any of these Transformers onto a table, add a jack-o'-lantern and a bowl of candy, and baby, you've got a Cybertronian Halloween stew going!

Know what? I like to mingle with Pringles. For more CGS shenanigans, be sure to follow and like on Twitter & Facebook!
