Transformers Dark of the Moon Dark Iron Revealed - Beast Wars Quickstrike Homage!

Though technically an image of Takara Tomy's Bic Camera exclusive Dark Steel, this toy is also being released in Hasbro's Transformers: Dark of the Moon toyline as Dark Iron. Originally shown exclusively to attendees of Botcon 2011, Dark Iron raised a fair bit of excitement given that he homages Beast Wars Quickstrike!

Based on the DOTM Sideswipe mold with a new head and gorgeous damn colors, Dark Iron is yet another Dark of the Moon toy that will appeal to a broad scope of collectors and Transformer fans. The Bic Camera exclusive "Dark Steel" version will retail for 2,520 yen - or 31 US dollars - but Hasbro's upcoming mass retail release will be exactly the same, so those of you in locations with decently distributed Transformer toys may want to wait!

Thanks to TFW2005 for the news!

Official Images of Transformers Chronicle Optimus Prime & Megatron

From E-Hobby:

As seen on TFW2005, these official images for Transformers Chronicle Optimus Prime and Megatron come to us from E-Hobby. These sets, released by Takara Tomy, pair reissues of the G1 Optimus and Megatron toys with their respective Transformers: Dark of the Moon counterparts.

The included trailer for Optimus is based on the one seen in the Dark of the Moon film, and can be shared between both the G1 and deluxe DOTM toys. As of now, the deluxe-sized movie Prime mold can only be found as a Wal-Mart exclusive from Hasbro. This upcoming version has an updated deco with fuller paint on the arms and a unique mech-tech weapon.

The DOTM voyager Megatron from the Decepticon set appears to have a darker, more contrasting set of colors than the regular Hasbro release, but that may be the simple result of a doctored up prototype photo. The G1 Megatron reissue appears to be made entirely of plastic, and seems to only include the scope add-on, but will still be a nice addition to anyone's collection.

The Transformers Chronicles sets are to be released in August of 2011 for 9,240 Yen, or 117 US Dollars, each. You can pre-order them HERE from Big Bad Toy Store.

New Jetwing Optimus Prime Images from TakaraTomy

TakaraTomy's website has just been updated with these new images of Jetwing Optimus Prime:

A retool of Revenge of the Fallen Leader-class Optimus Prime, Jetwing Optimus Prime reflects some of the new aspects of Optimus' design in the upcoming film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, as well as its accompanying toyline's gimmicks such as MechTech. A Hasbro release is not currently scheduled, so if you're not the patient type, you might want to consider importing it once it hits Japan in July.

A better look at Transformers Dark of the Moon Space Case

From TFW2005's coverage of Botcon 2011, we finally have a nice look at Transformers Dark of the Moon Space Case, a Target store exclusive:

This is a much anticipated figure, as not only is it a remold of the popular Terradive from last year's Hunt for the Decepticons line, but an homage to Space Case from Transformers Generation 2 (part of the fan-favorite Cyberjet assortment of toys) as well!

What's not to love? The base mold is lovely in both modes and was designed with a balanced mix of both movie and "classic" aesthetics. The included weapon is pretty bad ass as well! Slap a new head on in tow with a color scheme and name that calls back to one of the wonderful Generation 2 Cyberjets, and you're left with a recipe for success! I definitely intend to pick up one of these as soon as they hit the shelves.

Check out TFW2005 for tons more Botcon 2011 coverage, going on now!

UPDATE: Here's an additional photo from Jarodimus Prime:

Warpath Concept Art from Transformers: Dark of the Moon Video Game

From the official Transformers Game Facebook, here's a look at some initial concept art for a Transformers movie-verse Warpath:

Wow. It actually looks like the Warpath we all know and love! A nice mix of movie and "G1" aesthetics. Shame that it isn't the final version. Still, if you love Mr. Onomatopoeia himself and want to get a glimpse of what might have happened between Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the upcoming Dark of the Moon, the Dark of the Moon video game will be hitting shelves on June 14th.
