Fighting Game FanArt Frenzy

In honor of the Evolution 2014 fighting game tournament (taking place this weekend, July 11-13), it seemed appropriate to showcase characters from some of its featured games in the latest edition of FanArt Frenzy. No need for flowery, silly text up front — let's just jump right in!

This gorgeous illustration of Jin Kazama from the Tekken series comes from DeviantArt's istdog.

LynxKano created this elaborate BlazBlue cast illustration. It's well worth checking out in full-size.

This Little Mac vs Kirby piece from JangoMcTango shows some fantastic early hype for the upcoming Wii U and 3DS Super Smash Bros.

It may only be a quick sketch, but Mark Lester Jarmin's Chun-Li is spot on!

Here's a great portrait of Jago from Killer Instinct by Vostalgic. It captures the intensity of the game quite nicely.

Artist_Jai's sketch of Kyo, Iori, and K from King of Fighters is wonderfully stylish.

Dudley is probably my favorite Street Fighter character, and he was captured wonderfully in this fun and colorful piece from Kyattsuai7.

Welp. Thanks to Kibaro-Kun for this nightmare inducing take on the Villager from the upcoming Smash Bros. I know exactly how Mega Man and the Wii Fit Trainer feel.

KawoXD shows us what it might look like if Street Fighter's Ryu were to spill over into the Mario Kart franchise. I'd definitely be OK with this.

Its time as a featured Evo game is past, but Capcom Vs SNK 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. As such, I was thrilled to see this awesome God Rugal piece from EnlightendShadow.

That does it for this installment! If you're into fighting games at all, be sure to keep an eye on Twitch's various Evo streams this weekend for plenty of fantastic high level matches.

Until next time, feel free to catch me on Twitter & Facebook!
